Hi there,

I'm wondering about the bad experiences with binverse here. I tested binverse the promised 14 days, but cancelled before the trial period expired – and had no problems at all. After online-cancellation, I received an email with the appropriate confirmation. If I had enough money, I would singn in there again – because it was just useful. But that’s not possible for me at the moment. So I’m glad to have no problems with paypal or binverse, good luck for everyone who has it!

p. s. perhaps a call could help you more than an email to the support-team – there’s nothing better than speaking directly to a person if you want to discuss a problem in my opinion.

Hi there

Trough paypal, I have just received a confermation of a payment made to Binverse. They charged me $21.99 even though I only entered my paypal info for the FREE trial period!!! If you join the free trial period, you get anyhow billed a $1 cherge for verification - that's what I agreed to, that's what I knew. However, Binverse was entered to the list of recurring payments in paypal without me knowing. What an impertinence!

This company doesn't deserved to be named along with other newsgroup readers as their behaviour is fraudulent.

Kind regards and more luck to you.

Hey Peter,

I just had a similar experience with another non-Usenet related company where I was being repeatedly charged for a service I had tried out and did not end up wanting, and could not figure out how to deactivate the account. It was also equally impossible to get through to "a person" to help me resolve the issue and I too had to fill out an online form (for the third time). It is a really frustrating when this happens! Anyhow, sorry to rant ;)

If you want any advice on a good Usenet service, please let me know.

Cheers,

Ok I am actually new to the usenet system and thought about trying out Binverse as it was highly recommended when I searched the net. Of course at the time I also saw many complaints about the way they billed.

After reading all the complaints I figured that I will give them a try and just stop reaccuring payments on my Pay Pal account.

After a full month of using the UNLIMITED plan for 21.99, below are my findings.

Pro's

-Extremely fast download speeds that almost make full use of my 50mbits/s connection.
-Very easy to use software.

Cons

- 95% of all my searches for video contents were in GERMAN for audio!!!
- Useless Customer 24hr customer support as every time I have called they just submitted a request to their technical support department.
- Technical support is poor as they just send you an email a week later with little to no help as their answers you can on their website. And they always blame either your ISP or Your PC!!
- I did indeed confirm that both the $1 dollar Trial and $21.99 monthly charge was both active on my PAY PAL account as re accuring payments. Hence if I didn't cancel them on my account I am sure they would have charged me 2 times the following month for the service of $21.99x2.

All in all, I want to steer clear of torrents as they take a toll on my HD and take up my resources.
Is there anyone that can point me in the right direction for a new Usenet user to get better or close to speeds I got on Binverse with English content as opposed to rips in other languages??

I don't mind paying a reasonable monthly rate, but do prefer Unlimited as opposed to buying blocks.

Hope the above review helps to keep them off your top 10 and those new users like myself who don't mind paying for a usenet service.

Thank you in advanced.

Another user concluding that Binverse is a scam: I signed up for the trial ($1). Their own email states:
"If you are taking advantage of the Binverse free trial offer, you will be able to download 5 Gigabytes of Quantum Leap downloads. You may activate your full account at any time in order to get access to your full download allotment. You can activate your full account by logging on to the Binverse website and clicking on "My Plan"."

I NEVER activated a full account, yet they issued a recurring payment of $21.99 with my PayPal account.

More proof that they do not intend to operate a legitimate business is that they refused to refund this amount. Any business that cared about their reputation would behave differently. Binverse are thieves.

Hi Ben,

Yes, we are aware that Binverse has a very lucrative affiliate program. Based on the feedback we have had from people who have tried the service we cannot in right conscience promote this brand like some of the other Usenet Review sites. While money is always alluring, we prefer integrity over money. What Usenet service do you like the best?

All the best,

Hi Ben,

I am sorry to hear about your experience with Binverse! What are you looking for in a Usenet provider? Our website is a good starting point for information but if you have specific questions please feel free to email me directly. Right now you can get Newshosting NHXL for $15.95 and UseNetServer has a great deal for $10/month that includes Unlimited Downloads, SSL,598+ Days of Binary Retention & 20 Concurrent Connections.
